Caring for gum and bone disease is as important to your health as it is to your teeth, especially if you are diabetic!

Gum Disease, Diabetes and Your Health

Research indicates that people with gum and bone disease are at an increased risk of infection and heart disease, among other health issues.   Since people with diabetes are already at a higher risk for these, it is even more critical to help diagnose and treat gum and bone disease.

According to the Mayo Clinic, diabetes increases your risk of gum and bone disease, cavities, dry mouth, tooth loss and a variety of oral infections.  Uncontrolled blood sugar levels can cause damage to your mouth, gums and teeth.  This damage, in turn, makes controlling blood sugar levels more difficult.

Our 'Dentistry For Diabetics' program provides an opportunity to help control your blood sugar levels by helping control your gum disease.  That’s very good news!
